A Bear-y New Year

Pardon me while I slip into my new role

as Grandmother.  When I ran errands today,

some decorations remained from the holidays.

I just couldn’t resist the colors and bears.

Running through my head were stories

beginning with Once Upon a Time…

Fanciful thoughts raced through my

mind as well as visions of poetry.

New parents and their offspring are

filled with hope as they turn pages

of a brand-new book.  What began

as a less than successful first bath

experience evolved to the baby

so comfortable, she fell asleep

during the bath.  Ah yes, we all

had those days.  She is thriving.
