Mother Nature provided us an April Fool’s joke.
Spring snow. That is Upstate New York. Our
daffodils shivered in the cold, windy garden.
Tis’ Easter season with ladies wearing
their finery and Easter bonnets of all
colors decorated with flowers. New
shoes and winter coats. What? Our
apple tree sports big plastic eggs
blowing in the chilly wind. We brave
the weather and put on a happy
face. Customs and traditions. Off
to church we go! Our Dad took
photos of his wife and four daughters.
These days, some ladies wear hats for
Easter. Smaller scale. Less flowers.
The lilacs and forsythia bushes have
buds and will open soon despite
Mother Nature’s gift and humor.
Hope springs eternal. Hope
overcomes the cold and snow.
Easter joy remains in our hearts.
Happy Easter. Yep, we had frost this morning.

We are shivering with you. We went walking this morning when the temperature was 23 degrees.
I sang in the choir tonight! The music director is quarantined because his wife has COVID. The young woman who normally directs the praise and worship group stepped in. John knew they were short of singers and asked if they’d like one more voice. The service was one John had designed for our church in NY, so I knew all the music, having directed the choir for it there.
Hope y’all have a lovely Easter. oxox

Anne, thank you for this wonderful comment about music and singing. As people return to church, more and more and lending their voices in song. We were lucky to have three different groups doing just that this past year. You must have felt right at home too! Truly a great feeling I am sure. Our wind chill hovered in the 20s yesterday too. I saw a large swath of such temperatures in this side of the US. Be well and Happy Easter. oxox

Mary Ann, I love the cheeky sense of Spring and Snow in your post, nature captured with gentle humour and love! Here no snow but bitter cold winds, the daffodils are surviving well, primroses full of stunning vibrant blooms and the forsythia bushes almost turning. Out on walks we admire the masses of magnolias all in flower, heavenly! I hope you’ve had a beautiful Easter full of sung and joy! xx

Annika, thank you for such a thoughtful comment. You got my humor! Our daughter was here for a quick Easter visit. The weather cooperated too. I tried seeing and smelling all the wonderful flowers and bushes you noted. We had a joy-filled Easter and wish you a wonderful Easter week too. oxox
