Who’s Counting?

Our dining room table resembles a florist’s shop

and card shop combined.  So many special people

in my life honored by birthday last week.  The

unmentionable.  I have never been a fan of

divulging my age.  Whenever I am asked, I

nonchalantly declare I had quit counting

when I turned 25. As if age 26 was suddenly

old.  Funny how that is.  When I am now

asked at the doctor, I have everything typed

on a card to simply show them.  Long ago, I

gave up trying to spell my last name to others.

The letters M, N, C and Z sound the similar.

My daughter insisted I take photos to send

her.  My husband humored both of us with

a very small chocolate cake.  Asked how

many candles I wanted on it.  One, thanks.

No bonfires this year!  Over the span of one

week, there were multiple deliveries of the

most beautiful bouquets of flowers, some

whose names I do not know.  Ah, the colors!

Magnificent magenta, pink, red and green.

Each more delicate in hue and beauty.  I

just adore flowers.  Then chocolates arrive.

The greeting cards adorn the dining table too.

No matter when you have a birthday or not,

my hope is that it is an enjoyable occasion for

you.  Relax and enjoy your special day to

celebrate.  With age comes wisdom, right?

    Liebe Mary Ann,

Memories last forever. Wir versuchen, gesund zu leben und bleiben. Alles Liebe und Gute für Dich und Deine Lilly

      Deine Mary Ann ❤
