Blustery Winds Howl!

Blustery winds emit long plaintive cries

during the night as snow swirls across the

landscape.  Mother Nature boasts her

strength once again.  Chilly arctic air.

The critters have scurried for shelter.

Left behind a bevy of tracks in the sn0w.

Within earshot, thumps and bumps rouse

the sleeper. Check in the morning!

What awaits at first light?  The doormat

flew away into the garden.  One winter,

the doormat encountered a neighbor’s

yard.  Returned to us the next spring.

Behold the wonder of wonders!

gentle white snows float over the

landscape.  A veritable blanket.

Frosty below zero wind chills await.

These are the times to bake a

pie.  Sit in front of the roaring

fire in the fireplace.  Contentment.

Love my four seasons.  Gratified.

    • Bette, thank you for your very nice comment. When Old Man Winter blows and blusters, the best place to be is indoors until the storm is over. Baked a boysenberry pie to warm up the kitchen. We have about 8″ of snow now. Enjoy the weekend! oxox

      • Flurries here today… Polar winds are blowing! Brrrrr…. Enjoying homemade cranberry nut cookies and English Breakfast tea by the fireside. Baked apple berry oatmeal crunch this afternoon. Needless to say, we’re hunkering down! Stay safe and warm and enjoy your weekend too! ❤ xo

      • Brrr is right. Love all your homemade goodies. Our boysenberry pie was delicious. We have more for after dinner. Only 4 outside now and lower wind chills. We too are hunkering down. The snow flurries float gently down. Stay warm up north and be well. Hugs and blessings. oxox
