Hurling and swirling everything in its path,
the North Winds howl all night long. Colorful leaves
haphazardly strewn about. A sight to behold.
Batten down the refuse cans! Flowers lean down against
the wind’s onslaught. Try as the cold winds might,
we still have the last remnants of Autumn.
Begone, noisome winds! Didactically informing
us that the last remnants of trees, still holding
on for dear life, will soon be history. Bare and
shivering now, the spindly branches welcome
the onset of winter. A time to lay dormant
and renew once more in Spring. Soon snow-covered.
You’ve captured it… Winds wicked and power outage today. Snow predicted here in Maine for next week… Oh no! <# Stay safe and warm and hopefully enjoy a sunny weekend, Dear Mary Ann! xo

Bette – you brought a smile to my face with your comment. Thank you. I can do without a power outage though! Snow if over the top. Ready or not, here it comes. Have a great weekend! oxox

Ode and Farewell to Summer I would call these nostalgic feelings you created when writing this post, Mary Ann.

Peter – thank you and you are spot on. I hope it was a farewell to Autumn but both seasons blend at times. Is that what happens in your neck of the woods? Hope you have a great weekend filled with nostalgia as well. oxox
