Over Lunch

There is nothing better than

meeting family and friends over

lunch where conversation

abounds. Shared love:

spoken and unspoken via

smiles, nods of understanding,

reminiscing past times

and memories. Stories told.

Names forgotten and remembered.

It is the same around the world.

People relish the joy and comfort

sharing a meal brings.

Photographs taken to recall

the moments shared together.

Can life get any better? This

is happiness and bliss personified.

Herrscht Frieden und Eintracht in der Familie, besteht noch Hoffnung für die ganze Welt!

    • Doch! Wunderbar geschrieben, Peter. Hoffnung für die Welt beginnt mit der einzelnen Person. The power of example is not to be taken for granted. Children learn by the example of the parents, teachers and later on from adults. We bring about world peace thusly. Thank you for such an insightful comment and for understanding my intent in writing, Peter. Blessings this weekend and always. You are a person of peace! A holy man!

Mary Ann, I love your celebration of dinging together … your joy with your family and friends shines through your pictures and words. As young I found mealtimes often tiresome when I could be playing or reading. Now I treasure these mealtimes … for all the beautiful reasons you mention!

    • Annika, thank you for the thoughtful comment. Everything is special with friends and family together. It may an age-related thing but even when young, we looked forward to a visit from those special people in our lives. Everything is now spruced up around the house in anticipation of a visit from our daughter and her beau this afternoon. Then I sing with my other family in Chorale this evening. Enjoy your family and tea/coffee with a friend!

Beautiful; lunch with others is more than “food” but “memories” that last longer. I forget that sometimes. 🙂
